Review 60: MF DOOM

Chuck is back again with yet another Review 60. In this episode, he dives into the studio album MM Food made by MF DOOM. Daniel Dumile, also known as MF DOOM or simply DOOM, was a British-American rapper/music producer who is known for his wordplay as well as that iconic metal mask. Chuck describes DOOM’s wordplay as “intricate”, simply meaning that he has good bars. Tracks such as Beef Rapp, One Beer, Deep Fried Frenz, and *Blank* cakes have a lot of great beats as Chuck mentions that DOOM is known for the quality of his production. DOOM used an AKAI MPC for most of the tracks on this album, however, he decided to get a little more creative in *Blank* Cakes as he uses a sample of a beatboxing track for the entire song’s drumline. Overall Chuck rates MM Food a perfect 10 as he explains there isn’t a bad track on the album and that every track is great. Chuck decided to do a review on this album as a tribute to Dumile and all of his great work. He unfortunately passed away on October 31st of 2020 at the age of forty-nine.
