Large Fire at Brockton Hospital

Derek Fox, CBN Staff

Around 7 AM on Tuesday (2/8) morning, a large fire began to spread across the Brockton Signature Healthcare Hospital. At the time the fire broke out, there were 187 patients being treated inside. The origin of the fire is suspected to be the electrical system, which was attached to their old hospital building. The fire set off ten alarms within the building, and drew a very large response from the nearby fire and emergency services.

Crews from Holbrook, Hanover, Whitman, Stoughton, West Bridgewater, Bridgewater, Easton, Randolph, and Sharon rushed onto the scene in order to put out the fire which was eliminated around 9:30 AM. As of Wednesday, February 8th there are no reported injuries or fatalities as a result of the fire.

The Brockton Signature Healthcare hospital is now closed off with barriers, and it is unclear as to when a reopening will occur. Procedures for patients are not guaranteed to occur again until at least Friday, 2/10.
