This September, Ms. Katie Cleggett, one of our school’s guidance counselors, has taken on a new role as the Boy’s JV soccer coach. She was inspired to take on the role because of the impact her coaches had on her during her childhood school days. “My coaches helped me growing up and taught me things you can’t learn in school, like sportsmanship.” Cleggett says. She also believes that it’s a good way to stay active and get to know kids in a different way than as their guidance counselor. She enjoys soccer because it is a world-wide sport that brings people together. The team’s practices are going great so far, and she is very confident in the their abilities. She says, “They are a great bunch of kids with many different talents.” She hopes to continue coaching next year and do more interactive fundraising with the school.
