Squid Game Breaks The Internet

“Squid Game,” the popular Netflix show, has recently taken the internet by storm. The show premiered on September 17th, 2021. This film broke numerous records and is on its way to becoming the most popular series according to Netflix.
“Squid Game” involves 456 contestants, all of which are in debt, competing in a bloody game against each other to win a cash prize of $38.6 million. The games that make up this tournament are simple children’s games, such as tug of war and red light, green light. The twist being if you were to lose, it’ll result in your death and elimination from the competition.
This series stars HoYoen Jung (player 67), Lee Jung-jae (player 456), Wi Ha-joon (officer), Gong Yoo (salesman), Yeong-su Oh (player 1), and Lee Yoo-Mi (player 240).
Ever since the release of “Squid Game,” social media has been obsessed with the k-drama. This show has been trendy all over Tiktok, Instagram, Twitter, anything of the sorts. After its rise in popularity, many content creators have devised fan-theories.
The popularity has arisen so much to the point where it has broken the internet in South Korea, literally. South Korea’s largest internet service providers are suing Netflix regarding this issue.
