Girls Track and Field Team Takes 3rd Place Overall In League Championship

Lucy Ambroult and Emily Cochran are each league champions in two events, Will Haney and the 4×100 team take bronze

Congratulations to the track and field team for a great performance at the League Championship meet yesterday. Holbrook hosted 8 other teams and hundreds of athletes! On the boys team, Will Haney won a bronze medal in javelin, throwing 124 feet and the boys 4×100 relay team of Will, Alijaah Paul, Ethan Coakley, and Rolex St. Jean won a bronze medal as well, running a season best time of 48.42 Alijaah Paul also scored points in high jump, and Greg Gatlin took 4th place in discus!

The girls team took 3rd place overall out of 9 schools, scoring 77 points total. Lucy Ambroult is the league champion in the 200 M and long jump, with a time of 27.73 and a team record jump of 16 feet and 4.75 inches. Lucy also won a bronze medal in the 100 M, scoring 26 points total. Emily Cochran is the league champion in both hurdle events, with school record times of 16.8 in the 100 meter hurdles and 1:11.88 in the 400 meter hurdles. Her time in the 100 hurdles also qualifies for the D4 championship meet! Rose ferguson won a silver medal in the 400 meters, and the girls 4 by 400 meter relay team of Rose, Dalice Rodriguez, Bridget Moore, and Cailey Mingolla took took third place with a team record time of 4:52.55 Jaiden Laplanche and Gessica Bonheur also scored points in the 200 meters, Selena Kigsin scored in shot put, Hannah Altidor was fourth in long jump and the 100 meters, and Cailey Mingolla scored points in the 100 hurdles and the 400 meter hurdles.
