Importance of Hoilday Spirit
It is that time of year again. Snow is beginning to fall, it is finally getting cold, and Christmas songs are the only thing you hear on any given radio season. Christmas time is widely seen as the most wonderful time of the year by many across the globe. But why do we celebrate Christmas, and why is it so important?
To religious people across the world, Christmas is commonly known as the birth of the lord and savior, Jesus Christ. It is widely believed that he was born in a manger in the small town of Bethlehem, a town a little south of Jerusalem. It was known that Jesus was the savior, and 3 wisemen traveled a long length to provide baby Jesus three gifts. These gifts included frankincense, gold, and myrrh. Now, it is believed that to symbolize the tributes made to Jesus, we give presents to the ones close to us.
To others, Christmas is viewed differently in many ways. Some see Christmas as a time of giving, helping others out, and being a light in the community. Others view Christmas as a time to gather with family and friends, drink hot chocolate, and watch The Polar Express four times in a row. Some people believe that all of these things are what make up Christmas.
That is what makes Christmas so special all across the world. Each culture, and every family even has their own traditions and unique ideals they do every year leading up to Christmas day. But the important thing is no matter what you believe, Christmas is something that everyone can enjoy with your family and friends. That is what makes Christmas so special.
